Hi, I’m Kristina Richie — founder of The Barndo Pro, wife, mom of eight, and your guide to building a barndominium the right way.

My journey with homes started early. I’ve always had an eye for design — I bought my first house at 19, and by 27, I was onto my second. Both times, I remodeled, upgraded, and flipped them for a profit. When I moved to Texas a few years later, I did it again — turning hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit while teaching myself the ins and outs of remodeling and renovation along the way.

But my true obsession started when I was a licensed realtor in South Carolina and came across my first barndominium listing. I knew I had to have one. The problem? All I could find were kits, plans, and half-answers. No one could tell me how to actually make it happen.

When I moved to Texas, I got my real estate license there as well — and met my husband, Colton, a barn builder. Together, we built our first barndo and made every mistake in the book. But those mistakes became lessons, and soon, we were building dozens of barndominiums for families in our community and designing them for clients all across the country.

Along the way, people began calling me during their builds with the same questions I once had. They just wanted someone they could trust to help them through the process. That’s why I created Barndominium University and Contractor on Demand — so now, anyone can have a trusted expert on their side.
